Former Georgia first lady Betty Foy Sanders dies at 95
ATLANTA, Ga. (WTVM) – Betty Foy Sanders, a former Georgia first girl, has died.
She was the spouse of Carl Edward Sanders Sr., the Peach State’s 74th governor. They have been in workplace from 1963 till 1967.
Governor Brian Kemp launched an announcement Sunday on her passing.
“Marty, the women, and I have been saddened to be taught of Mrs. Betty Foy Sanders’ passing,” stated Kemp. “…She represented a lot of what makes Georgia the best state in our nation to name house. Along with her sharp wit, class, and well-known humorousness, she was the epitome of a southern lady. Throughout her years as first girl and through her lengthy and fulfilling life afterwards, she was dedicated to beautifying our state, preserving Georgia’s proud historical past, and serving to college students of the humanities additional their schooling and abilities.”
Kemp went on to thank God for Sanders’ service, her life contributions to fellow Georgians and the instance she set for a lot of others. She was 95.
