Deadly Coastal Georgia tornado upgraded to EF-4; strongest in the US so far this year

PEMBROKE, Ga. — National Weather Service officials introduced Friday the deadly twister that struck Bryan County, Georgia, on April 5 has been upgraded to EF-4 depth with winds of 185 mph.

With winds of 185 mph, it surpasses the 170 mph twister that occurred in Winterset, Iowa on March 5, making it the strongest to happen thus far in 2022.
