ATHENS, Ga. — Charlie Condon had a chance to breath some life back into the crowd at Foley Field that sat quiet as a funeral procession.
Georgia had its first baserunners of the game against North Carolina State veteran ace Sam Highfill. Condon got ahead in the count, as he would do all four of his plate appearances Saturday afternoon. He watched a 2-0 fastball down the heart, but when Highfill missed his location with another fastball on the next pitch, Condon was ready to pounce. He took a hefty hack and drove the ball to center field.
