PanCare of Florida offering free health services
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Good, affordable health care can be hard to come by. One local organization is looking to alleviate that financial burden on families.
For over 20 years, PanCare of Florida has been servicing 10 Panhandle counties.
“We have services. Medical services, dental services, optometry services, behavior health, and a pharmacy as well,” said Lindsey Cross, Director of Mobile Programs for PanCare of Florida, Inc. “A lot of the counties that we serve are counties that are more rural, and the mobile program aims to make that more accessible to them.”
Free of charge is the PanCare way. On Fridays in July, PanCare is setting up shop at Tommy Oliver Stadium in Panama City. The health care mobile team offers sports physicals, school entry exams, and developmental screenings to Bay County students at no cost.
“People are struggling, and I think it is important that we are able to help in any way we can, however small it may be. If it takes 25 or 100 dollars off of their plate, I’m glad that we can do that.” Cross said.
PanCare of Florida says they are here to help, no matter a family’s financial situation,
“We see patients who are insured, we see patients who are not insured, we see them all. So, it’s a come one, come all type thing,” said Cross.
If you haven’t been out to see them in Panama City yet, don’t worry, PanCare of Florida will be at Tommy Oliver Stadium again on July 19 and 26.
“Come on out, come see us. We’re here for you, we’re here to serve our community,” Cross said.
