Nov. 30 (UPI) — Officers in a Florida county try to determine a mysterious, long-buried wood object partially unearthed by erosion.

Volusia County officers mentioned the article, which seems to be a part of a wood construction, was unearthed in Daytona Seashore Shores by erosion following Hurricanes Ian and Nicole.

“This erosion is unprecedented at this level. We have not seen this type of erosion in a really very long time,” Volusia Seashore Security Deputy Chief Tammy Malphurs informed WKMG-TV, “I have been on the seaside most likely 25 years and that is the primary time I’ve seen it uncovered.”

It was not clear whether or not the construction was a part of an previous boat or an previous dock.

“We’re undecided what it’s however it’s a giant piece of particles, most likely about 80 to 100 toes in size,” Malphurs informed WESH-TV.

Officers mentioned a state archaeology workforce is predicted to go to the seaside quickly to try to determine the article.
