Former Florida governor dies at the age of 87

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – One of the giants of Florida politics with close ties to our area has died.

Family members announced Tuesday night that Bob Graham passed away at a retirement facility here in Gainesville, according to the Tallahassee Democrat.

Graham was a two-term governor and US senator and his passion for civics later manifested in the Bob Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida.

His family wrote on X that “he was a rare collection of public accomplishments and personal traits that combined to make him unforgettable.”

Bob Graham was 87 years old.
