Florida’s attorney general says a massive immigrant detention camp nicknamed “Alligator Alcatraz” will open in early July at an abandoned airfield in the Florida Everglades. It is expected to house 5,000 undocumented migrants facing deportation. Critics are worried about the conditions for migrants and the environmental impact. NBC News’ Gabe Gutierrez reports.
