Woman killed in crash in Delaware has been identified
DELAWARE, Ohio (WSYX) — The woman who was killed in a crash Thursday morning in Delaware has been identified.
Julie Ann Chappell, of Powell, died at the scene. She was 38 years old.
The crash happened along State Route 36 and 37 near Davidson Lane shortly after 4 a.m.
Police said a Jeep SUV that Chappell was driving collided head-on with a Dodge pickup truck, adding that the Jeep was in the wrong lane.
The driver of the truck was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
It’s not clear why Chappell’s Jeep was driving on the wrong side of the road. Police said alcohol may have been a factor, but that has not been confirmed.
