A Wilmington man competing in Sunday’s Escape the Cape Triathlon close to Cape Might, New Jersey has died.
Officers say the 70-year-old man was noticed in misery close to the end of the one-mile swimming portion of the race.
Lifeguards rescued him and CPR was carried out earlier than he was taken to Cape Regional Medical Middle.
The person’s identify was not instantly launched.
Race officers say they’re “heartbroken” to have misplaced a member of the triathlon group.
