Rape, Carjacking Suspect Arrested In Delco: Delaware State Police

TINICUM, PA — A man wanted on rape, robbery, and more charges was taken into custody in Delaware County late last week, according to Delaware State Police.

Keenan Brown-Meads, 26, of Claymont, Delaware, was taken into custody by Tinicum Township Police at about 12:20 p.m. Thursday in the area of the Philadelphia International Airport, Delaware State Police said.

Authorities said Brown-Meads was wanted in connection with a sexual assault and carjacking that occurred Wednesday night in Claymont.

Tinicum Police at about 12:20 a.m. Thursday near the airport stopped a stolen vehicle, Delaware State Police said.

The driver and sole occupant was identified as Brown-Meads.

Authorities said the sexual assault and carjacking occurred at about 11:55 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Philadelphia Pike in Claymont.

Delaware State Police troopers learned that an unknown black male, later identified as Brown-Meads, came up to the victim as she was getting out of her parked car.

Authorities said Brown-Meads then sexually and physically assaulted the victim, before dragging her out of her car, and driving off in the stolen car.

The victim was treated and released from an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Brown-Meads is charged with second-degree felony rape, first-degree felony robbery, felony unlawful sexual contact, felony attempted strangulation, and third-degree assault.
