Pro-Francis Suarez super PAC flies ‘Prosecute Hunter Biden’ banner near first family’s Delaware beach house
A super PAC backing Miami Mayor Francis Suarez for president took a sky-high shot at scandal-ridden first son Hunter Biden over his father’s Delaware beach house on Friday.
“Prosecute Hunter Biden,” read the red, white and blue banner, which was towed by a plane that made several passes along the beachfront between North Shores and Dewey Beach.
President Biden’s $2.7 million “Summer White House” in Rehoboth Beach sits nearly square in the middle of the plane’s route.
The 80-year-old commander in chief was not at the house at the time.
The stunt was organized by SOS America PAC, which pledged to fly the banner if 1,000 people donated to Suarez’s 2024 Republican presidential campaign.
“Hunter Biden should be behind bars. Joe Biden has abused the power of the President to protect Hunter, and the world needs to know,” the group wrote on a page soliciting donations for the 45-year-old candidate.
“So give $1 today and watch us fly this banner over Joe Biden’s beach house in Delaware to tell the world: LOCK HIM UP!”
The longshot candidate announced earlier Friday that he had met all of the criteria required by the Republican National Committee to qualify for the first GOP primary debate on Aug. 23.
“While our campaign only began a few weeks ago, I am humbled knowing that Republicans from all fifty states have donated to our campaign — nearly 50,000 thus far,” he tweeted.
Suarez had previously suggested that he would drop out of the 2024 race if he didn’t make it onstage for the first debate in Milwaukee.
Hunter Biden’s “sweetheart” plea deal on federal tax and gun crimes, that would’ve likely spared him any jail time, fell apart in a Delaware courtroom last month.
The dramatic July 26 hearing ended with the president’s 53-year-old son entering a not-guilty plea on the charges. He will now likely face trial and perhaps additional charges.
Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, tasked with handling the federal investigation into Hunter Biden, was elevated to special counsel by Attorney General Merrick Garland earlier this month.
On Friday, President Biden laughed off a question from a reporter on the Justice Department’s probe.
“I have no comment on any investigation that’s going on,” the president said when asked about his reaction to Weiss being granted special counsel authority.
“That’s up to the Justice Department. And that’s all I have to say,” he added.
Congressional Republicans are also looking into whether Joe Biden misused his office while vice president to enrich himself or his family and are looking into Weiss’ role in what whistleblowers say was a Justice Department coverup in the five-year-long federal probe into Hunter Biden.
