Hazleton native DiLiberto reappointed Delaware Italian Commission chairman

Delaware Gov. John Carney has reappointed Hazleton native Richard A. DiLiberto Jr. chairman of the Delaware Fee on Italian Heritage and Tradition for a 3 12 months time period efficient April 29.

DiLiberto has served as chairman since being first appointed by Gov. Ruth Ann Minner in 2006, and has been reappointed by Gov. Jack Markell and Gov. Carney 5 instances.

The fee has 9 members, three appointed by the speaker of the Home, three by the president professional tempore of the Senate and three by the governor, one in all whom is designated as chairperson.

The fee’s statutory duties are to ascertain, preserve and develop cultural ties between Italians and Italian-Individuals; foster a particular curiosity within the historic and cultural backgrounds of each teams in addition to within the financial, political, social and creative lifetime of the nations concerned; and assist set up or promote Italian-language applications within the colleges of Delaware.

He’s a graduate of MMI Preparatory College, Bloomsburg College and Widener College Delaware Legislation College. He serves as vice-chairman of MMI’s board of administrators.

He and his spouse, the previous Religion Petrovich, have three grownup daughters and one granddaughter and reside in Newark, Delaware.
