Former Delaware firefighter charged in sexual assault of teen
NEWPORT, Del. (CBS) — A Delaware volunteer firefighter was charged Friday with the sexual assault of a teenage lady, police mentioned.
Dwayne Pearson, 39, is charged with second-degree rape and different felony costs, in accordance with Delaware state police. He turned himself in Thursday after police obtained ideas that he had a relationship with a 15-year-old lady from July 2022 to August 2022.
Pearson was a deputy chief on the Belvedere Fireplace Firm.
In a press release Friday, the company mentioned Pearson was terminated after members had been notified concerning the prison costs.
“Belvedere Volunteer Fireplace Firm want to categorical our honest apologies to the sufferer and her household,” the company mentioned in a press release posted on its web site.
Pearson was arraigned and positioned within the Howard R. Younger Correctional Establishment on a $92,000 bond.
