Delaware senators will hold a hearing Monday afternoon to discuss enshrining abortion rights in the state constitution.
The state Senate Health & Social Services Committee meeting will begin at 12 p.m. today and is the first leg of a constitutional amendment to ensure reproductive freedom for all Delawareans.
Senate Bill 5, which aims to constitutionally protect the right to abortion, defines reproductive freedom as the “right to make decisions about all matters relating to pregnancy, childbirth, prenatal and postnatal care, contraception, sterilization, abortion, miscarriage and infertility.”
The hearing will take place at Legislative Hall in the Senate Chamber. To watch the virtual meeting, visit the Delaware General Assembly website.
