Delaware Co. Sheriff’s Office makes arrest, sending pornographic images to children

HANCOCK, NY (WBNG) — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced in a press release the arrest of a Hancock man for sending indecent images to children.

Investigators with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division reported they received a complaint from the Delaware County Probation Department that a person was suspected of communicating with underage children sexually on April 1.

After a three-month-long investigation, Delaware County Sheriffs arrested and charged 27-year-old Dylan J. Brooks with one count of disseminating indecent material to minors, a class E felony and one count of endangering the welfare of child, a class A misdemeanor.

Brooks allegedly violated the terms and conditions of his probation by using an unauthorized phone and social media account to contact a 16-year-old child and send sexually explicit images to the underage child according to Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.

Brooks was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hancock Court at a later date.
