All westbound lanes of Interstate 20 and northbound lanes of Highway 67 are closed near the interchange between the two highways as the Dallas County sheriff’s office investigates a fatal accident.
The I-20 crash was reported around 6 a.m. Thursday, according to the Texas Department of Transportation’s crash map. The scene was still active as of about 8 a.m. The sheriff’s office said all traffic is being diverted onto northbound Highway 67.
Northbound lanes of Highway 67 were also closed at about 6:15 a.m., just before the interchange with I-20, according to TxDOT. It is unclear if the closure is related to the I-20 crash.
TxDOT cameras show massive delays on both highways.
Police did not say the circumstances of the crash, the identity of the person killed or when the highway is expected to reopen.
