The Cowboys went up to Cleveland for their first game of the season and used a strong defensive effort to take care of the Browns last Sunday. Dallas picked off two of Deshaun Watson’s passes, holding Cleveland to just 230 yards of total offense. The Cowboys’ offense was not all that flashy, only amassing 265 yards themselves, with Dak Prescott throwing for just 179 yards and a touchdown. Yet, it was enough for Dallas to pull away and win, 33-17. It is a decent win to begin the season, but the Cowboys need to show more if they want to be considered contenders.
The Saints came into this season looking like a team that might be in the playoff conversation. While they only played the lowly Carolina Panthers in Week 1, New Orleans showed up. Derek Carr threw for three touchdowns, while Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams each scored on the ground. Paired up with a dominating performance on defense, the Saints ran away with a 47-10 victory. Even though their season-opening win was impressive, this Sunday’s matchup will be a measuring matchup for New Orleans.
Dallas is 18-13 against New Orleans, including a 10-point win in their last meeting in 2021.
MY PICK: Cowboys win, 28-14
