Dallas, TX
Here’s Who Is Coming to Dallas This Weekend: July 7-9
I Love the 90s
July 7, 7:30 p.m.| Toyota Music Factory, Irving
Your dose of nostalgia this week comes to Irving as the I Love the 90s tour makes a stop at Toyota Music Factory. The tour features once-local headliner Vanilla Ice and a rotating cast of other 90s acts—this stop includes Rob Base, Tone Loc, 2 Live Crew, and All-4-One. Get tickets
Sarah Johnson
July 7, 10 p.m.| Adair’s Saloon
Local artist Sarah Johnson will debut her latest single, “Lookin’ for Someone,” at Adair’s Saloon Friday night, and since that song is about meeting someone at a bar and being unsure about whether they’re a love match or not, Johnson says the event will be “a party for singles to meet each other.” Get it? A single release party for singles? Johnson said she’s hoping that Dallas’ poor dating reputation (in 2021 TikTok called it a “dating dumpster”) will motivate people to change the narrative at the party. Get details
Paramore
July 8, 7 p.m.| Dickies Arena, Fort Worth
Grammy-winning band Paramore is getting close to winding up their summer tour, but before they do, Hayley Williams and crew will head to Cowtown in support of their newest album, This Is Why. Expect tunes from that, but also favorites like “The Only Exception,” “Ain’t It Fun,” and “Misery Business.” Teen rock band The Linda Lindas will open. Get tickets
Joey McIntyre
July 8, 8 p.m.| The Studio at the Factory
The youngest of the New Kids on the Block, who are now neither kids nor new, will hit The Studio at the Factory Saturday night as part of his Solo Joe Tour. He’ll be singing his favorite songs from his 40-year-long career, including his extensive time on Broadway. In addition to all those hits with NKTOB, he also charted with his own solo work, including his debut album, Stay the Same. If you miss this show, though, take comfort in knowing that the whole band will be in Durant, Oklahoma up Central Expressway next month. Get tickets
Amanda Shires and Asleep at the Wheel
July 8, 8 p.m.| Longhorn Ballroom
The late Bobbie Nelson was the longtime pianist for her brother, Willie Nelson, and during the pandemic, she and singer Amanda Shires worked on Loving You, an album meant to showcase Bobbie’s talents. The album included Bobbie’s son (also a Grammy-nominated record producer) Freddy Fletcher, and ably shows off Shires skills as a vocalist as they both interpret songs like “Over the Rainbow,” and “Dream a Little Dream,” and “Always on My Mind.” Shires is joined by Asleep at the Wheel to pay tribute to Sister Bobbie, who died in March.
