FC Dallas appears to be looking toward Europe for attacking help.
According to soccer insider Fabrizio Romano, FCD is closing in on a deal for Benfica striker Petar Musa. Romano reported Sunday that Musa and the North Texas-based MLS club reached a verbal agreement for 10 million euros, with 3 million euros in add-ons. It would be a permanent move for the 25-year-old Croatian forward.

With about a month left until the start of the MLS regular season, FCD could strengthen an attack that features players like Jesus Ferreira, Paul Arriola and Alan Velasco. Musa has primarily featured as a center forward, playing 184 matches of his professional career at the position.
Musa has appeared in 14 matches for Liga Portugal’s Benfica during the 2023-24 season, scoring five goals to go with two assists. He joined Benfica, one of Portugal’s top clubs, in July 2022 after a season-long loan at Boavista.
The striker made his first appearance for the Croatian senior national team in March 2023, entering as a substitute for Marko Livaja in a UEFA Euro 2024 qualifier against Wales. Before that, Musa scored five goals while suiting for Croatia’s U21 and U18 squads.
According to Romano, Musa will join the team for medical tests early next week.
