Dallas Trinity FC play to a draw with Carolina Ascent FC

Dallas Trinity FC had a chance on Friday to leap into sole possession of third place in the USL Super League standings but failed to secure all three points against league leaders Carolina Ascent FC.

In a home match at the Cotton Bowl, Trinity got a 24th-minute goal from Amber Brooks and added a second from Allie Thornton in first-half stoppage time. Thornton’s goal was the Arlington native and SMU grad’s fourth on the season which is tied for second in the USL Super League. Both of Trinity’s goals came in response to goals from Carolina. They now sit level on points at 10 on the season with Fort Lauderdale United FC and DC Power FC.

Trinity will next play Fort Lauderdale at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 4:00 p.m.
