Birthday celebrations in the Dallas area honor Selena’s legacy

If Selena Quintanilla had not died 27 years in the past, the Queen of Tejano would be 51 on April 16. For her birthday, a number of occasions will honor her legacy, life and music.

The Dallas Museum of Artwork’s month-to-month popular culture collection will characteristic a night of actions impressed by Selena. FREE Jaxon Texas Kitchen and Beer Backyard in downtown Dallas’ AT&T Discovery District can have music by Bidi Bidi Banda and DJ Turo, a dressing up contest for these 21 and older with a $500 prize, and a Como la Flor specialty cocktail made with botanical- infused tequila, citrus, agave and Topo Chico for $10.

Oak Cliff’s Texas Theatre will present the 1997 movie starring Jennifer Lopez because the Mexican American music star. A DJ set follows the film.
