Tornado watch ends early in the Austin area

A twister watch that was in impact for Austin and far of the encompassing space has ended early.

“Whereas storms are ongoing in Bell County and Falls County to the north of our space, storms have ended throughout our CWA (county warning space) prompting us to cancel the twister look ahead to Blanco, Burnet, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties,” the Nationwide Climate Service Austin/San Antonio stated in a tweet round 7:50 p.m.

The watch had initially been in impact till 11 p.m.

A twister watch means tornadoes are potential within the watch space. The NWS says folks in a watch space ought to be able to act if a warning is issued. A twister warning means a twister has been sighted or indicated by climate radar, the NWS says.
