The Texas Longhorns now know that the road to Cleveland goes through Austin and Portland.

The NCAA revealed during its ESPN-televised selection show on Sunday night that Texas has earned a No. 1 seed for its postseason tournament. Texas (30-4) will host Drexel (19-14) later this week for a first-round game at a yet-to-be-announced date and time.

Texas was last a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament in 2004.

The winner of the Texas-Drexel game will advance to play either No. 8 Alabama (23-9) or No. 9 Florida State (23-10), who will also meet at Moody Center on the same day that UT plays. That Round of 32 game will take place two days later.

The last team standing at Moody Center will move onto the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight rounds in Portland, Ore. The No. 2 seed in the Portland 4 region is Stanford.

The 2024 Final Four is scheduled to take place at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse from April 5-7.

Texas (30-4) has been victorious in 12 of its last 13 games. The Longhorns are coming off a week in which they won the championship at the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, Mo.
