Homicide investigation underway after two men killed in East Austin
AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department is investigating after they said two people were killed in East Austin.
An officer with the department said they were called out to an apartment complex on E 51st Street and Aldrich Street after receiving multiple reports of shots fired just before 9:30 Sunday night.
Two people were found with life threatening injuries, according to the officer.
First responders attempted to save their lives but both victims were pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials said both victims were men in their twenties.
APD said there is no threat to the public and the incident is currently being investigated as Austin’s 18th and 19th homicides.
