Austin FC II picked up two points vs. North Texas SC on Friday night at Parmer Field at St. David’s Performance Center, defeating their in-state rivals 5-4 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw in regulation.

ATXFC II grabbed an early lead through Ervin Torres. The Austin FC Academy product netted his second goal of the season on an assist from Cheick Touré following a fluid bit of team buildup play. North Texas equalized 12 minutes later though via a left-footed curler by Herbert Endeley.

The second half passed without many chances for either side, and in the shootout, Marcus Alstrup made the game-winning save to seal an extra point for the Verde & Black.

Austin FC II will play the 10th away match and 19th match overall of its 2024 MLS NEXT Pro regular season against Portland Timbers 2 on Thursday, August 8 at 10:00 p.m. CT at Providence Park. The match will be available to watch on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
