APD investigates incident in North Austin that sends young woman to the hospital
AUSTIN, Texas — The Austin Police Department (APD) is currently investigating a disturbing incident that unfolded early Tuesday morning in North Austin, leaving a young woman hospitalized with severe head trauma.
The incident occurred at the Bridge at Harris Ridge apartment complex, situated near the intersection of E Howard Lane and Dessau Road.
According to APD Public Information Officer Dimitri Hobbs, the authorities received a call reporting shots fired at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

First responders arrived at the scene, where they discovered a juvenile female victim with critical injuries to her head.
The victim was immediately transported to Dell Children’s Hospital for urgent medical attention.
In a previous tweet shared by APD, it was mentioned that they were investigating a homicide at the location.

However, the APD spokesperson present at the scene clarified that despite the seriousness of the young woman’s injuries, she is still alive.
