Shortly after, Flores was seen on the balcony holding a gun. Officers gave verbal commands again, but the suspect pointed his gun at them. That’s when one officer deploys his PepperBall system and three other officers fire their gun at the suspect.

Flores retreated into the apartment. At this point, SWAT was called to scene.

At 8:44 p.m., officers forced their way into the apartment to rescue the woman and child. Flores fires his gun at the officers, at which point, they return fire. Flores reached for the gun and pointed it at the officers and received another shot. Flores was pronounced dead on scene.

No other injuries were reported.
