Woman convicted in Augusta deadly ‘fit of domestic rage’

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Almost 4 years after a deadly taking pictures in a neighborhood close to Daniel Subject, in Augusta, a jury discovered the defendant responsible, in accordance with prosecutors.

Lakeesha Stokes was convicted Tuesday of felony homicide, voluntary manslaughter and possession of a firearm through the fee of a felony, in accordance with District Lawyer Jared Williams. She was sentenced to 25 years in confinement.

Stokes was accused of fatally taking pictures 62-year-old Larry Gilbert White on June 28, 2018, in what Williams described as “a match of home rage.”

It occurred within the early morning hours, with deputies being referred to as to 2515 Parkway Drive round 1 a.m.

As soon as there, they discovered White on the bottom unresponsive with a gunshot wound. Stokes was taken into custody on the scene with out incident.

“In lower than two days, this killer was tried, convicted, and sentenced to the utmost penalty,” Williams stated in an announcement that was issued Wednesday because the group grapples with a present crime wave that’s claimed a number of lives in current days.

“The group has spoken: We is not going to tolerate home violence in any type,” Williams stated.
