Volunteers to spruce up Augusta, Aiken ahead of golf week

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Augusta and Aiken are holding spring cleanups this month in preparation for an influx of visitors during Masters Week.

In Augusta

The second annual spring community trash pickup will be hosted by Mayor Garnett Johnson from 9 a.m. to noon March 23.

Volunteers should meet at the Augusta-Richmond County Municipal Building.

There, they’ll pick up supplies and then head to a designated pick-up location.

Gloves, garbage bags and trash grippers will be provided.

Bring your own reflective vest and/or trash gripper, if you have one.

In Aiken

Visit Aiken is partnering with Clean Up Aiken to host a cleanup day along Jefferson Davis Highway. from 9-11 a.m. March 27.

Volunteers should meet at the Aiken County Recreation Center, 917 Jefferson Davis Highway in Graniteville.

Light refreshments will be available.

All volunteers will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $100 Amazon gift card.
