Suspect accused of intentionally running over woman, child

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office searching for a suspect accused of running over a woman and a child in an altercation, authorities said Friday.

Nina Demmons, 30, is wanted in connection with an incident that occurred Oct. 2 in the 1500 block of Wooten Road, according to authorities.

A witness said she saw a sedan with two females in it arrive at the location around 6:10 p.m. In addition to Demmons, the other suspect in the car was listed by deputies as a 17-year-old female.

They got out of the car and started fighting with a 39-year-old woman who was accompanied by a 16-year-old and a 6-year-old, according to deputies.

The suspects then got back into the car and “intentionally ran over” the 39-year-old woman and one of the children, deputies said in a report.

The vehicle then left the scene, traveling southbound on Wooten Road toward 15th Street, according to deputies.

The victims suffered “severe injuries,” according to deputies’ report.

Demmons is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 140 pounds, according to deputies.
