AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – While we just had election day on Tuesday, some politicians are already thinking about the 2026 election.

The Chief Deputy Tax Commissioner for Richmond County, Steven Kendrick, is running for mayor once again.

He kicked off his campaign Saturday, saying the city needs to better manage its money and talked about how to reduce violence in the city.

“We’ve got to pour more into making sure we model well for our youth. Believe it or not, I believe our government has a role in making sure youth development is important. So, we’re going to set the right standards,” said Kendrick.
