Sheriff’s Office to get funds for new security cameras

Augusta, Ga (WJBF) New crime preventing instruments are on the way in which to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Workplace.

Commissioners approving, 62 thousand {dollars} in extra funding for the Sherriff’s Workplace funds as we speak.
That coming after a closed-door authorized session.

Commissioners say the cash will primarily be used for safety cameras.

“Cash that might be spent correctly to get these cameras and we discuss crime we hear residents involved about crime individuals operating crimson lights and accidents I believe the extra cameras the higher,” mentioned Commissioner Catherine Smith McKnight.

The cash might be coming from the contingency funds.
Commissioners say it’s going to match an earlier grant the Sheriff obtained and can enable for 50 new cameras to be put in.
