PBC Introduces Hallissey as Coordinator of Creative Content & Digital Media
AUGUSTA, GA — The Peach Belt Conference and commissioner David Brunk are pleased to announce that Laura Hallissey has joined the conference office as the Coordinator of Creative Content & Digital Media. Hallissey began her duties this week at the league office in Augusta, Ga.
“We are very excited to welcome Laura to the Peach Belt family,” said commissioner Brunk. “Her drive, creativity and knowledge will make her a great addition to our team here at the conference office and a valuable resource for our member institutions.”
Hallissey will be tasked with shaping the social media content and visual presentation of the Peach Belt Conference. She will oversee all league social media channels and create content for the PBC website. She will also produce video content for the site and the league’s YouTube channel as well as coordinate all live video broadcasts of PBC championships through the PBC Sports Network.
“I’m thankful to commissioner Brunk and everyone at the Peach Belt for this opportunity,” said Hallissey. “I look forward to showcasing all of the incredible accomplishments of this league and its student-athletes.”
Hallissey comes to the Peach Belt from Saint Leo University, where she recently completed her MBA in Sports Business. While at Saint Leo, she also served as the social media manager for the women’s soccer team in addition to her role as assistant women’s soccer coach. Under her direction, the team’s Twitter and Instagram following increased dramatically and she also established the team’s first-ever TikTok account. She also did game day work for lacrosse, basketball and baseball covering everything from live stats entry to video production.
A native of Waterford, Ireland, she played collegiate soccer at Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, where she was named the ICCAC Player of the Year. After receiving her associates’ degree, she transferred to Saint Leo and played in 11 games in the 2021 season with seven starts.
In addition to her coaching work at Saint Leo, Hallissey served as a volunteer assistant for the Florida Premier FC Wesley Chapel under 15 girls team.
