Operation Southern Slow Down starts this week in Ga., S.C.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Georgia and South Carolina law enforcement will target speeding and aggressive driving as a part of the Operation Southern Slow Down initiative starting Monday.

Georgia and South Carolina are two of the five states.

During the week, state and local law enforcement will target speeding and aggressive driving.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says more than 11-thousand people died in speed-related crashes in 2022.

That’s up 25 percent from 2018.
