One of my favorite things about life in the Peach State is how much history in Georgia there is. From Civil War museums to ancient Native American mounds and colonial-era taverns, there are so many places you can visit within our state that have been around for lifetimes. One of the oldest currently-standing buildings in Georgia is the Springfield Baptist Church in Augusta, GA. It’s home to one of the very first Black congregations in the country and possibly even the very first. This is a beautiful building with a fascinating history.

Have you ever heard of the Springfield Baptist Church in Augusta, GA, or seen it in person? The Garden City has so much history here!
