Mind and Soul Festival brings mental health resources to Augusta community
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A local organization hosted a festival to promote mental health awareness and provide community resources.
Crown Her Mentoring held its Mind and Soul Festival at the Bernie Ward Community Center. The event featured vendors with resources to help neighbors take care of their minds and bodies.
“This initiative is important because we are just giving back to the community, we are allowing people to come and market their stuff, and let people know they are here for their mind,” said Kia Bolton, vice president of Crown Her Mentoring. “I think the turnout has been well. We have been having people come in and out even though the weather has been shaky today.”
The festival included giveaways and a kid zone with games, activities and more for kids.
Crown Her Mentoring will host a summer tutor program for kids in June.
