Gerald Jones Auto Group donating $250K to Augusta Tech Foundation

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – As it celebrates 50 years of serving the CSRA, Gerald Jones Auto Group is entering a five-year commitment with Augusta Technical College.

The commitment is resulting in a $250,000 donation to the Augusta Technical College Foundation, which helps create essential career pathways for the growing automotive landscape in Augusta.

”It is critical that we support Augusta Technical College in providing training and education for careers in automotive,” said Andy Jones of Gerald Jones Auto Group. “It’s also important to the success of our dealerships and it’s great for our area residents.”

Gerald Jones opened his first dealership in Augusta in 1974. After 11 successful years, he passed the business down to his son, Andy Jones, who has continued to expand the business.

Voted as “Best in Columbia County” for 12 consecutive years, Gerald Jones Auto Group has also earned titles such as Cyber City’s “Best Place to Buy a New Car” and “Best Place to Buy a Used Car.”

Starting with a single Volkswagen store, the Gerald Jones Auto Group has grown to encompass nine lines, seven dealerships and four locations. Over the years, it has sold more than 200,000 cars.

“Our community has been good to us,” the company said, “and we appreciate the trust and loyalty our customers.”
