GBI arrests 7 people in Washington County drug bust

SANDERSVILLE, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has arrested seven people in Washington County after a four-month multi-agency investigation.

Arrested were:

  • Robert Johnson, 64, of Sandersville, charged with three counts of sale of cocaine and possession of cocaine.
  • Donald Sutton, 47, of Sandersville, charged with two counts of sale of cocaine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
  • Howard Swint, 54, of Sandersville, charged with two counts of sale of cocaine.
  • Anthony Williams, 30, of Sandersville, charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
  • Justin Sutton, 32, of Sandersville, charged with trafficking in cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony.
  • William Hall, 39, of Sandersville, charged with possession of cocaine.
  • Freddie Flemming, 59, Sandersville, charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

Authorities on Aug. 23 initially arrested four people accused of involvement in drug sales in Washington County. Law enforcement also executed search and arrest warrants and arrested three more people on drug and gun charges.

During the investigation, agents seized a rifle, about 50 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 14 grams of suspected powder cocaine and about 28 grams of suspected marijuana.
