Ferguson-Reynolds Named Ray’s 8 Weekly Finalist – Boise State University Athletics
AUGUSTA, Ga. – For the second-straight week, the Augusta Sports Council announced Boise State punter James Ferguson-Reynolds as one of Ray’s 8 by the Ray Guy Award.
Ray’s 8 honors eight punters weekly who had the best punting performance over the weekend. A fan vote will determine the winner of the weekly award.
Against UCF on Saturday, Ferguson-Reynolds punted five times for an average of 50.0 yards per punt, the fifth-highest single-game total in program history. His longest punt of the night traveled 54 yards and four of his five punts were downed inside the 20-yard line.
A sophomore from Geelong, Australia, Ferguson-Reynolds was named to the preseason watch list for the Ray Guy Award and the Phil Steele All-Mountain West Preseason Fourth Team. He currently ranks first in the MW and third in the FBS with a season average of 51.2 yards per punt.
