Fair midway named for Exchange Club of Augusta icon
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Augusta Mayor Garnett Johnson on Thursday helped unveil the new midway at the Georgia Carolina State Fair.
It’s now named the Joe Taylor Midway.
Taylor joined the Exchange Club of Augusta in 1962.
He’s the longest-standing member of the club and was the club president in 1998.
Taylor was also appointed fair manager in 1999 by Congressman Rick Allen.
