AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – The CEO of Zawyer Sports has agreed to be the owner of Augusta’s potential ice hockey team.

Andy Kaufman says as long as the ice gets the final approval for the arena, he’s all in.

He made that announcement Thursday at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce’s annual banquet where he served as the keynote speaker.

“I’m part of a movement. Let’s face it. And, this is a great community, a community that deserves the best live sport on earth. It’s going to be wildly successful. We have no doubt,” said Kaufman.
