“Back to Business” Event brings Local Businesses and City Officials Together
Augusta, Ga. – The “Back to Business” Event hosted by the City of Augusta builds connections between local government and local businesses.
The City of Augusta hosted the second “Back to Business” Event at the Augusta Technical College Thursday to give local businesses around the area a chance to ask questions and build connections with city officials.
Phyllis Johnson, the City of Augusta’s Compliance Director spoke at the event and wants local businesses to get involved with local government.
“This is a way for the city of Augusta to connect with our local small businesses and a way to share information with them. And to share about the different departments with the city and what projects we have going on,” said Johnson.
Local business owner of Sig Cox Heating and Air, Jeff Miller, said that he and his wife were able to meet local officials and build connections that weren’t there before.
“So we wanted to come see it. There are supposed to be leaders here to talk about the opportunities and what’s going on with the local cities. So we wanted to get here and see what’s going on,” said Miller.
This event has been hosted by the city twice, and the City of Augusta is hopeful to build relationships with local businesses and host more events like this one in the future.
