AUGUSTA, GA ( WJBF) — Some main federal funding is making a big effect at Augusta Technical School.

Augusta Tech obtained greater than 16 million {dollars} from the American Rescue Plan.

The cash was used to offer all college students with direct monetary assist.

School leaders say its been a giant assist to these college students impacted by the pandemic.

“A lot of them misplaced their jobs or needed to keep house as a result of their kids had been being house schooled or in on-line training so it significantly impacted them to have the ability to present these extra funds for school,” Augusta Technical School Provost Dr. Melissa Frank – Alston stated.

The funding additionally helped to offer a laptop computer mortgage program for college kids together with different IT upgrades.
