Augusta Regional Airport hosts TAPS, welcomes public for feedback
AUGUSTA, Ga. (WFXG) – On Monday, AUGUSTA REGIONAL AIRPORT HOSTED ITS TERMINAL AREA PLAN OPEN HOUSE. The AIRPORT WANTS THE IMPROVEMENTS TO BE REFLECTIVE OF THE PUBLIC’S NEEDS, SO THEIR ASKING PATRONS FOR INPUT.
AIrPORT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR HERBERT JUDON says THe PLAN IS FOCUSED ON PASSENGER EXPERIENCE. “THIS STUDY IS LOOKING AT FORECASTS BASICALLY AND TRENDS THAT WE’RE GONNA SEE AT OUR AIRPORT AND TRYING TO PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT ACCORDINGLY TO THOSE FORECASTS.”
JUDON SAYS SECURITY CHECK POINTS, ADDITIONAL AIRCRAFT GATES AND AMENITIES LIKE CHARGING STATIONS ARE A FEW OF THE OPTIONS.
THE PROCESS TO PREPARE THE FEDERALLY FUNDED PLAN BEGAN IN SUMMER 2022 AND WILL BE COMPLETE IN SUMMER 2023.
THose in attendance had been invited TO VIEW DRAFT CONCEPTS FOR THE LAYOUTS OF THE TERMINAL AND ITS FACILITIES.
JUDON SAYS PROJECTION FOR FUTURE GROWTH AND ENSURING THEY HAVE FACILiTIES TO ACCOMMODATE THAT GROWTH, WHILE remaining SUSTAINABLE IS THE GOAL.
ONCE THE STUDY IS CONCLUDED, THEre will probably be A FINAL REPORT that WILL DRIVE FUTURE FUNDING. He SOME IMPROVEMENTS YOU’LL SEE within the coming months, OTHERS IN THE COMING YEARS.
