Augusta Commission meeting to discuss Sunday bar opening moved to Monday

The Augusta Commission’s regular special-called meeting followed by committee meetings has been moved from Tuesday to Monday this week at the city’s municipal building on Telfair Street.

The special-called commission meeting is 11 a.m. during which commissioners may change the only Sunday Augusta bars can be open this year from Super Bowl Sunday to Cinco de Mayo. The committee meetings will follow at about 1 p.m. and some of the items include an update on the Augusta Boathouse, a discussion on slumlords, and info on replacements needed at Charles B. Webster Detention Center.

These meetings are open for the public to attend and they can be watched live on the “Augusta, Georgia Government” Facebook and YouTube. Full agendas are available on augustarichmond-ga.municodemeetings.com.
