AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – District 7 Commissioner Sean Frantom held a meeting to discuss current issues in his district and projects throughout the city.

Some of the topics discussed:

  • Future murals and public art throughout the city.
  • Updates to different parks adding more pickleball courts and a covered basketball court.
  • Fixing the Marina and Augusta Boat House.
  • New temporary traffic additions for Masters week on Washington Road as well as on Cabela Drive at Riverwatch to make it easier and safer while also continuing the flow of traffic.
  • Ongoing issues off Washington Road and how they are planning on improving Augusta in the future.
  • The reopening of the Bell in June and the completion of the James Brown in November of 2026

“Just overall, like when you look at all of the engineering going on or different things within this district or in this area, even Richmond County as a whole, I think it’s exciting right now,” said Frantom.

Thursday was just a feedback session for the district and a lot of these projects are still in the works.
