Atlanta man robbed, killed in 'targeted' attack by group who then stole his dog: police
A reward is available in Georgia for information on the suspects accused of robbing and killing a man before stealing his dog in southwest Atlanta on Monday night.
Samuel “JR” Harris, 44, was walking his dog “Tequilla” at around 8 p.m. Monday near Mitchell Street SW and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard SW when he was approached by a group of individuals and robbed, the Atlanta Police Department announced Tuesday.
During the robbery, Harris was shot and killed. Atlanta police believe he was targeted.
The suspects also stole Tequilla, who has not yet been recovered.

Harris’ family spoke with FOX 5 Atlanta on Wednesday to share that their priorities are finding out who killed him and getting his beloved dog back.
Mary Boykins, Harris’ mother, told FOX 5 she learned of her son’s death when a police officer knocked on her door the next morning.
“I couldn’t believe it,” she said. “I think I’m still in shock a little bit, like I’m going to wake up and it’s a dream.”

The family handed out fliers in the neighborhood near the crime scene and to encourage anyone who may have seen something to speak up.
“All I hear is that laugh, that laugh is definitely going to be missed,” Lea Harris, JR’s wife of 15 years, told the outlet. “We really are here asking anybody who can tell us anything.”

Liz Robinson, his sister, added that the family would be grateful to get Tequilla back.
“It would be so grateful even if you just dropped her off in a cage in front of the police station,” Robinson said. “We would be so grateful to have a piece of him still with us.”

Atlanta police are asking the public for any relevant information related to this case.
Crime Stoppers Atlanta announced a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in Harris’ murder and the family announced an additional $5,000 on Wednesday.

West Virginia took game one from Cal Poly 12-2 on Friday and will look to end the series today and punch their ticket to Omaha. The Mustangs are hoping to live another day and force a decisive game three on Sunday.

Scattered storms are expected across much of North and Central Texas on Saturday. This activity means there is a threat for isolated flash flooding near and after sunset.
The National Weather Service Fort Worth/Dallas issued a bulletin about the forecast on Friday afternoon. According to the bulletin, scattered showers and storms will continue well into Saturday evening.
There will be a low chance for a few strong to severe storms capable of producing quarter-sized hail and gusty downburst winds along as west of Highway 281 on Saturday evening.
Slow-moving and training thunderstorms could lead to an increased flash flood threat generally along and north of I-20 near and after sunset. It shouldn’t rain all day on Saturday, but residents should stay weather aware.
Remember to never drive into water of unknown depth. The slogan is “Turn around, don’t drown” for a reason.
On Sunday, scattered storms will continue into the afternoon, primarily along and east of I-35. The main hazards will be locally heavy rainfall, lightning, and gusty winds.
After that, mostly sunny and dry conditions with highs in the 90s will return early next week. Heat index values could approach 100 degrees at times, so make sure to stay hydrated and cool.
There are little to no rain chances currently forecast next week.
Drew Rasmussen allowed one hit in seven dominant innings, Junior Caminero reached base five times and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Miami Marlins 6-0 on Friday night.
Caminero doubled and walked twice and singled and Cedric Mullings homered for the Rays. Ryan Vilade had two hits and two RBIs while Yandy Díaz had three singles.
Rasmussen (5-2) struck out a season-high nine and retired 17 straight after allowing Javier Sanoja’s opposite-field single to right in the second. The right-hander was lifted after 87 pitches.
Two of Rasmussen’s five victories this season have been against Miami. Rasmussen completed 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball in a 6-3 win at Tampa Bay on May 17.
It was Caminero’s second game of the season that he reached base five times. Caminero had four walks and singled in Tampa Bay’s 9-7 loss against St. Louis on opening day.
After being swept at home by Detroit in a three-game set, the Rays had 12 hits in the series opener against Miami.
Cam Booser relieved Rasmussen and pitched the eighth around a walk to Jakob Marsee. Cole Sulser allowed a leadoff single in the ninth then closed to complete the two-hitter.
The Rays struck quickly against Marlins starter Ryan Gusto (0-1) when Richie Palacios hit a two-run triple and scored on Vilade’s single in the first.
Aranda’s RBI single off reliever Tyler Phillips in the fifth made it 4-0. Díaz followed with a comebacker clocked at 110.2 mph that deflected off Phillips’ right foot for an infield single. Phillips was evaluated by the Marlins trainer, made several warm-up pitches and remained in the game.
The Rays padded the lead on Mullings’ homer to lead off the sixth and Vilade’s run-scoring single in the seventh.
Gusto allowed three runs and three hits over two innings.
Ray’ outfielder Chandler Simpson left in the third inning because of left thumb discomfort. Simpson hit leadoff and grounded out in his two plate appearances before being replaced by Victor Mesa Jr.
LHP Shane McLanahan (6-2, 2.45) was set to start for the Rays on Saturday against RHP Lake Bachar (0-0, 3.45)
