ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Firefighters rescued a woman from a burning house in northwest Atlanta Sunday morning, according to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department.

Crews were sent to the 2000 block of Lois Place around 10:08 a.m. after dispatchers received a call about a person trapped in the burning home, officials said.

Firefighters arrived in roughly five minutes and found “heavy fire showing in the front of” the one-story home, according to the department.

Crews worked to extinguish the fire as they searched for the trapped person. They soon located an elderly woman at the back of the house and pulled her to safety, officials said.
