Residents change holiday plans after pipes burst, flooding due to freezing temperatures
ATLANTA — Many Georgians are cleansing up flooding or discovering a brand new place to sleep after pipes burst throughout metro Atlanta.
Channel 2′s Veronica Griffin talked to a number of people who find themselves heading into Christmas within the chilly and darkish.
And it’s not simply houses and companies in DeKalb County.
Channel 2 Motion Information obtained video and photos from viewers throughout the metro Atlanta space, displaying water from damaged pipes leaving its mark on this arctic blast.

It’s as if downed bushes and energy traces all through the higher a part of the day Friday and a part of Saturday morning weren’t sufficient. A house owner despatched photos of water leaking from the ceiling of their dwelling on Rocky Ridge Boulevard in Douglasville — and so they’re not alone.
“The water began operating by way of the home,” neighbor Latosha Shivers stated. “First it was in the lounge, then it went from room to room. Then it began pouring prefer it was storming outdoors.”
Shivers confirmed Channel 2 Motion Information the place water poured from the ceiling of her condo dwelling in Vinings, as she ready brunch on Saturday.

Georgia Energy says these households are a part of the group of consumers who misplaced energy early on Saturday morning.

Georgia Energy is working to restore the lights and warmth to the affected houses, nearer to midnight.
