Pit Bull Accused Of Attacking Yorkshire Terrier Fatally Shot In ATL

ATLANTA, GA — A dog owner is accused of fatally shooting a pit bull that attacked a Yorkshire Terrier Wednesday in the 800 block of West Peachtree Street, Atlanta Police said.

Police said the shooting happened around 9:45 a.m. The two pet owners were unable to stop the attack, and the owner of the Yorkshire was accused of shooting the pit bull. The pit bull died at the scene.

The owner of the pit bull fled from the scene while the Yorkshire owner remained present. The Yorkshire was in critical condition and was taken to a local hospital by officers, police said.

The Atlanta Department of Public Works removed the pit bull from the scene.
